This document is an electronic record in terms of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the rules made thereunder, as applicable and as amended from time to time. This electronic record is generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signatures.
Prayosha Food Services Private Limited, a private limited company incorporated under the laws of India (“Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”), manages and operates Munshi — the website at gomunshi.ai, the Munshi application, its integration with TallyPrime, and any other linked pages, features, content or services we offer from time to time in connection therewith (collectively, the “Platform”). Munshi is an artificial-intelligence accounting assistant that reads business documents, prepares accounting entries and answers questions about accounting data held in TallyPrime.
All users of the Platform are advised to read and understand this Privacy Policy and our Terms and conditions carefully before registering, accessing or using the Platform or any services offered by the Company. By giving your consent for accessing the Platform (either as a visitor or a customer), you (hereinafter referred to as “you”, “your”, “user”, “Client” as applicable) expressly consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of the Information (as defined hereunder) in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy, as amended from time to time.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the websites of our business partners, corporate affiliates or to any other third parties, even if their websites are linked to the Platform. We recommend you review the respective privacy statements of the other parties with whom you interact. If you do not agree with any of the terms contained in this Privacy Policy or the Terms and conditions, please do not use or access the Platform.
The capitalised terms which have been used herein but are not specifically defined shall have the same meaning as attributed to such terms in the Terms and conditions. In the event of any inconsistency between the Terms and conditions and this Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy will supersede solely in respect of the content contained herein.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to two groups of people, and different parts of it matter to each:
- Visitors to gomunshi.ai. You can read every page of this website without giving us anything. If you submit the demo-request form, you give us your name, business name, email address, phone number and city.
- Customers and their authorised users. Businesses that license Munshi and the people they authorise to operate it, who connect the product to one or more TallyPrime companies.
2. What information is, or may be, collected from you
The Company may collect the following information (“Information”):
- Personal Information. Information that can be linked to or used to identify a specific individual: name (including the name of the entity and of its representatives or staff), email address, mobile phone number and contact details, city, postal address, business category and designation. Where you purchase a licence, we also collect the billing details necessary to raise an invoice and process payment, including GSTIN and PAN.
- Accounting and business data (“Service Data”). To do its job, Munshi processes the business documents and accounting records you give it or authorise it to read. This includes purchase and sales invoices, bank statements, ledger and item master names, voucher entries, tax details including GSTIN and GST amounts, and the contents of the TallyPrime companies you connect. This data belongs to you. It is described separately in Clause 5.
- Technical information. When you visit the Platform we may collect your internet protocol address, operating system, browser type and language, internet service provider, the pages you visit, the links you click, the number of times you access a page, the date and time of your request, and similar browsing information. This type of information does not by itself identify you personally.
- Communications. When you send emails or other communications to us, we may retain those communications in order to process your enquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.
We do not collect biometric data. We do not collect fingerprint or facial-recognition data, GPS or geolocation data, payroll or salary records, credit reports, health information, or data about your physical, physiological or mental condition. Munshi has no need for any of it and does not ask for it.
Please note that the above is an illustrative and not an exhaustive list, and is without prejudice to our right to seek further Personal Information as may be required for the provision of the services to you.
The Platform and its contents are not targeted at minors (those under the age of 18), and the Platform is intended for business use. If you have reason to believe that a minor has provided Personal Information to us through the Platform, please contact our Grievance Officer at the details in Clause 14 and we will endeavour to delete that information.
3. How we collect the Information
We collect Information in four ways:
- You give it to us directly, as part of a voluntary demo request, a registration, a purchase or a support conversation.
- You authorise Munshi to read it, by connecting the product to a TallyPrime company or by uploading a document such as an invoice or a bank statement.
- We collect it automatically when you browse the Platform, through server logs and the cookies and similar technologies described in Clause 11.
- We receive it indirectly, where you reach us through a referral partner or reseller, or where you engage with our brand on social media.
The Platform may contain links to other websites. The Company is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites it does not own, manage or control.
4. How the Information is used
The Company will process the Information you provide with security, integrity and confidentiality, in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as permitted by applicable law, for the following purposes:
- To provide the services you have asked for, including reading the documents you submit, preparing accounting entries and answering your questions about your own data.
- To create and maintain your account, and to watch for unauthorised activity on it.
- To respond to a demo request or a sales enquiry, and to contact you about it.
- To provide customer support, and to investigate and resolve problems you report.
- To communicate with you about the product you are using, service and policy updates, and opportunities to give us feedback.
- To improve the Platform and to develop new features, including by analysing usage in aggregate.
- To send you marketing communications about our products and services, where you have consented to receive them. You can withdraw that consent at any time — see Clause 10.
- To enforce our Terms and conditions, and to protect the security and integrity of the Platform, our business and our users.
- To prevent, detect, investigate and act against fraud, financial crime, other illegal activity and violations of our Terms and conditions.
- To comply with applicable law, including tax, accounting and record-keeping obligations, and to respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
We strictly limit access to your Personal Information to those of our employees and contractors who have a definite need to use it.
5. Your accounting data, and what we do not do with it
The accounting data you entrust to Munshi is yours. We process it on your instructions, for the purpose of providing the service, and for no other purpose.
Specifically:
- We do not sell your accounting data.
- We do not share your accounting data, or the financial position it reveals, with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use the contents of your books to target advertising at you.
- Every figure Munshi produces links back to the source document it came from, so you can check it. Munshi prepares entries; a person approves them.
Where you are processing the data of other people through Munshi — for example the names and contact details of your customers and suppliers as they appear in your ledgers — you remain the Data Fiduciary in respect of that data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Company acts as a Data Processor on your behalf. The respective obligations of the parties are set out in the Terms and conditions and in any Service Agreement between us.
We hold the data in your account for as long as you choose to use our services, and thereafter as described in Clause 9.
6. With whom your Information will be shared
The Company does not rent or sell your Personal Information. We will not disclose your personally identifiable information to third parties, save as set out below:
- Service providers. We use third parties to host our infrastructure, deliver email, process payments, provide customer support tooling and measure website traffic. They receive only what they need to perform that function, must have appropriate security measures in place, and may not use your Information for their own purposes.
- Professional advisers. Legal, accounting and administrative consultants, where necessary and under a duty of confidentiality.
- Group companies. Petpooja and other entities within the Prayosha Food Services group, where necessary to provide or support the services.
- Where the law requires it. To comply with a subpoena, court order, or a request or order from a legal authority or law-enforcement agency; and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- Corporate transactions. In the event of an audit, reorganisation, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment or transfer of all or part of our business or assets (including in connection with any insolvency proceedings), the Information we hold may be transferred to the relevant party.
The Company may also use Information in aggregated and de-identified form — from which you cannot be identified — for internal analysis and research to improve our products, services and communication.
7. Marketing communications
If you submit the demo-request form on gomunshi.ai, you are asked to agree to receive updates from Petpooja. That agreement is recorded with a timestamp and a version number, so that we can show what you were told at the time you gave it.
You can withdraw that agreement at any time by writing to us at munshisupport@petpooja.com, or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email we send you. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect our ability to send you service messages about a product you are actively using, and it does not affect the lawfulness of anything we did before you withdrew it.
8. Security of Information
To protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the Information under its control, the Company has in place appropriate technical and managerial procedures. Our servers are accessible only by authorised personnel, and your Information is shared internally on a need-to-know basis.
Although the Company will endeavour to safeguard the confidentiality of your Personal Information, no method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. You understand and acknowledge that there is no such thing as complete security, and that risks such as unauthorised access, hacking and breaches of encryption exist beyond our reasonable control. By using the Platform you agree that the Company will have no liability for disclosure of your Information due to errors in transmission or the unauthorised acts of third parties.
If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
9. How long we keep Information
We retain your Information for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, and thereafter for as long as required or permitted by applicable law — including tax, accounting and statutory record-keeping obligations.
When a licence ends, your accounting data is handled as set out in the Terms and conditions and any Service Agreement between us. Demo-request records and marketing consent records are retained for as long as necessary to evidence the consent given and to comply with our legal obligations.
10. Your rights and your choices
Subject to applicable law, and in particular the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:
- Access the Personal Information we hold about you, and ask for a summary of how it is processed.
- Correct information that is inaccurate, and complete information that is incomplete. You may update most of your details yourself from within your account.
- Erase Personal Information that we no longer need for the purpose it was collected for, or for a legal obligation.
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. Where processing rested on your consent, withdrawal stops that processing going forward; it does not make the earlier processing unlawful.
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
- Complain to us through the Grievance Officer named in Clause 14, and thereafter to the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, write to munshisupport@petpooja.com or to the Grievance Officer. We may need to verify your identity before we act on a request. Please note that if you withdraw consent for the collection and use of Personal Information that is necessary to provide the service, you may no longer be able to use the Platform.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser on your device. We use them, and similar technologies, for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary. To make the website work, to remember your cookie choices, and to keep you signed in to your account.
- Analytics. To understand how the website is used, which pages are read and where visitors come from, so that we can improve it. We use Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager for this.
- Advertising and attribution. To measure whether an advertisement led to a visit or an enquiry. This may involve identifiers set by Google and Meta, and click identifiers carried in the URL when you arrive from an advertisement.
Analytics and advertising cookies are used on the basis of your consent, and we apply Google Consent Mode so that these tools are told what you have agreed to. You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time. You can also control cookies through your browser, which will let you delete them individually or block them from particular sites or from all sites. Removing or blocking cookies may affect parts of the Platform. If you delete all cookies you will also lose any preferences you have set, including a preference to opt out.
We do not provide Personal Information to third-party advertisers or ad servers without your consent.
12. Links to third-party sites
The Platform may include links to third-party applications or websites (“Third-Party Sites”), and embeds content from them — for example a product video hosted on YouTube. Such Third-Party Sites are governed by their own privacy policies, which are beyond our control. Once you leave our Platform, the use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you are visiting, and that policy may differ from ours.
13. Policy updates
The Company may change, amend, modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes are effective upon posting to the Platform, and the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Where a change materially affects how we process your personal data, we will give you notice, in English, to your registered email address at least 5 (five) days before it takes effect. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy whenever you visit the Platform.
14. Grievance redressal
If you have any questions, complaints or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, please write to our Grievance Officer, who is also the Nodal Officer of the Company. Any complaint or concern regarding content, or a breach of this Privacy Policy, shall be informed to the Grievance Officer in writing or by email. The Grievance Officer shall acknowledge the complaint within 72 (seventy-two) hours and redress it within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of receipt.
Details of the Grievance Officer / Nodal Officer:
- Name: Jatan Vala
- Designation: Vice President – Revenue

15. Governing law and jurisdiction
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of the Platform or this Privacy Policy shall be dealt with in Ahmedabad, and the courts of Ahmedabad shall have exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate the same.
If for any reason any part of a provision of this Privacy Policy is held invalid, the remaining valid provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
